Overwatering your trees in summer can be detrimental to their health. Believe it or not, trees, shrubberies, and other plant life can get too much water in the summer.

In order to determine whether or not you should water your trees, check the soil condition near the tree. It it is too soggy or damp, no water is needed. 

Pro tip: it is way more effectice to water the roots of the tree as opposed to soaking the soil!

Take a day and head to the job site with your crew!

Follow your crew via video and pictures and share with your followers what they are doing. Introduce the job site, how they prep for the day, the safety measures they take. 

Once on-site, go live and explain what your crew is doing for the day and what their equipment does. Talk through the basics of what is happening and how this can help your clients' trees. 

Do you have a blog that you update consistently? If not, start one now! A blog is a great way to connect with your followers and clients and keep your website updated in a simple and easy way.

With spring approaching, you could potentially write about prepping your trees for spring/summer, pruning techniques for specific trees, or the importance of Plant Health Care. If there is a service you offer that you want to elaborate on or draw attention too, focus on that!

Once you have the article written (no more than 1 page), post it to your social media channels! This is also a great way to link directly to your website and encourage people to check out not only your post, but also the other tools you have available on your website!

Post a quick Instagram story video of your current Saturday activity. This helps keep your page front and center for the algorithm and gives your followers a look into your real life.

If you are working on a Saturday, post that too! It is another way for potential clients to see your dedication to them and how much you do for your industry.

Pro Tip: When you find multiple articles you like, save them all! I keep an abundance of articles linked in a draft in my email. That way, if I'm struggling the day of to find an article I like, I can circle back to the saved ones and post one of those. Just be sure to check dates - you don't want to be posting something from more than 6 months ago!

Some species of trees can be planted in summer. However, for most plant species, summer is a less than ideal time to plant them.

The fluctuation in summer temps, as well as rain, overly hot days, and draughts is stressful enough for adult trees to go through. When you plant a young tree - is this really what you want them to go through? How do you expect it to survive the impending winter? 

Pro tip: Plant new trees in spring or autumn to give them the best chance for survival.

Ask your followers what they would like to know about you! Share this graphic and place a question box from Instagram Story below. Then answer the questions on your IG story as they come in!

Discuss and outline a service that you offer.

To change things up a bit, record a short video of yourself discussing the service and how you complete it. If you know a comeptitor that does a similar service, discuss how you handle things differently and why the client should work with you. Keep your video under two minutes to maximize the amount of people that will watch until the end!

Direct people to your website to learn about more of the services you offer and include contact information for your business.

Show your social media followers how you helped one of your clients do something.

For example, let’s say you successfully removed a very large tree from their yard. You can share a post explaining how you handled the situation and the steps you took to ensure that the process went smoothly.

Or maybe you have a special technique or tool you use that cuts down on emissions or is friendly to the environment. Share what that technique or tool is and how it will benefit your other customers.

No matter what type of business or speciality you have, you can come up with a way to create a case study based on the experience of one of your customers.

Share your case study to your IG Story. Add in any additional photos or text that will help explain what you did and how that helped your customer's trees.
